Seriously, AMAZING LOOK A LIKE

TMZ.COM has everyone buzzing tonight about a series of photos taken of a man in NewOrleans who looks alot like Tupac Shakur.

[left: Tupac Shakur/ right: someone who looks AMAZINGLY like the late actor/rapper]

In spite of the widely-circulated Shakur autopsy photos, rumours still pop up from time-to-time that maybe Shakur is actually alive and in hiding. Playing a role in this speculation is the more than four posthumous releases of new material which is pretty impressive for a man dead for 13 years...or is he?

Serves: 12 My CookBook (+)

Ingredients:

2 cups (500 mL) all-purpose flour
2 tsp (10 mL) baking powder
1 1/2 tsp (7 mL) cinnamon
1 tsp (5 mL) baking soda
1/2 tsp (2 mL) ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp (2 mL) ground ginger
1/2 cup (125 mL) Heinz Tomato Ketchup
1/2 cup (125 mL) water
2 tbsp (30 mL) red food colouring
3/4 cup (175 mL) butter, softened
1 1/2 cups (375 mL) packed dark brown sugar
2 eggs
Frosting
6 oz (175 g) brick-style cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup (175 mL) butter, softened
1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract
4 cups (1 L) icing sugar (about 1 lb/500g bag)

Preparation:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease two 9-inch (23 cm) round cake pans and line the bottoms with parchment paper. Stir the flour with the baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, nutmeg and ginger into a bowl. Stir the ketchup, water and colouring in a separate bowl. Set aside.

Beat the butter and blend in the sugar in a large bowl until smooth. Beat in the eggs. Add the flour mixture and ketchup mixture. Beat on low, scraping down the bowl as needed, until combined. Increase the speed to medium-high and beat for 1 minute. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 30 minutes or until the centre springs back when touched lightly. Cool the cakes for 15 minutes before turning onto a rack to cool completely.

Frosting: Beat the cream cheese, butter and vanilla on medium speed for 2 minutes or until smooth. Gradually beat in the sugar on low, scraping the bowl as needed. Beat on high until fluffy. Frost between the cake layers and over the sides and top of the cake. Makes 12 servings.

NINE WAYS TO LIVE 100 YEARS!

Researchers have discovered that people who live to be 100 years old share certain traits in how they eat, sleep, exercise, and deal with stress. Here are nine things they do to stay healthy that can help you make it to the century mark too . . .

#1.) DON'T RETIRE. People tend to gain weight after they retire, which makes the risk of chronic disease skyrocket. People who live to be 100 retire later in life and stay active afterward by volunteering and working outdoors.

#2.) FLOSS EVERY DAY. A 2008 study showed that daily flossing reduces the amount of bacteria in your mouth. This bacteria is thought to enter the bloodstream and trigger inflammation in the arteries, which is a major risk factor for heart disease.

#3.) KEEP MOVING. Exercise is the only real fountain of youth that exists. It's like maintaining your car: You don't have to do it, but your car will definitely run better if you do. You don't need to be a body builder to see the effects.

--In fact, people who see the biggest payoffs from exercise are the ones who go from doing nothing to taking a 30-minute walk once a day.

#4.) EAT A FIBER-RICH CEREAL FOR BREAKFAST. Getting a serving of whole-grains each morning helps maintain stable blood sugar levels throughout the day. And that can drastically lower your chances of developing diabetes

#5.) GET AT LEAST SIX HOURS OF SLEEP. Instead of skimping on sleep to add more hours to your day, get enough sleep and add years to your life. Six hours a night is the bare minimum. And people who reach the century mark make sleep a top priority.

#6.) CONSUME WHOLE FOODS, NOT SUPPLEMENTS. People who eat fruits, vegetables, and whole-grain breads age more slowly. There's no evidence that vitamins and supplements have the same anti-aging effect.

#7.) BE LESS NEUROTIC. People who live to be 100 years old don't internalize stress or dwell on things. They're great at rolling with the punches. It's hard to change the way you react to stress, but things like yoga, exercise, meditation and deep breathing can help.

#8.) BE A CREATURE OF HABIT. Centenarians tend to live by strict routines. They maintain a healthy diet and take part in the same kinds of activities their whole lives. Going to bed and waking up at the same time each day is a good start.

#9.) STAY CONNECTED. Being social helps people avoid depression, which can lead to premature death. In fact, some experts think that the biggest benefit elderly people get from exercise is the social interaction that often comes with it.

--Whether that's going for a walk with a friend or taking a group exercise class, staying connected to other people will keep you around longer . . . maybe even a hundred years.

Here Are 6 Tips to Control Your Cravings.

We all know that summer is coming ... and we all want to drop a few (or several) pounds before we hit the beach. But all too often food cravings overpower the best of intentions. So how do we control those pesky cravings and have diet success? The April issue of Women's Health offered some tips from a weight loss coach and nutritionist

Here Are 6 Tips to Control Your Cravings:

1. Banish hunger. Eat regular meals that include complex carbs, protein, and a little healthy fat -- this combo will keep your blood sugar steady and keep you from feeling famished.
2. Identify triggers. Ever try to give up a bad habit? Triggers can sabotage even the strictest dieter. Keep a food log and record your moods, stressors, and pre-meal hunger. You should be able to see what sends you to the cookie jar -- and learn to avoid it.
3. Wait it out. Wait 20 minutes after a stressor -- it takes that much time for brain chemicals to re-balance after a stress-attack.
4. Drink something. The brain sometimes tells you it's hungry when you could actually use some H2O. Try a glass of water or a cup of herb tea and see if the craving passes.
5. Blow it off. If you absolutely must stick something in your mouth ... make it sugar free gum. One study shows that gum-chewers had less cortisol (the stress hormone) than non-chewers.
6. Look on the Light Side. Laughter cuts stress, releases feel-good chemicals, and burns calories (yes, burns calories!) If only there were hilarious work-outs.

OOH, THAT SMELL

Smells have a certain power over us, even if we can't quite put our finger on what it is. But scientists say smells have more impact than we even realize. For example -- did you know a guy's scent can actually help you decode his personality?

According to the Sense of Smell Institute in New York City (yep, it exists!) and reported in an article in Cosmo, the scent a man chooses reveals how he wants people (especially women) to perceive him. Here's a lesson:

If his scent is fresh, zesty, citrusy ... he's uncomplicated and take-charge.
If his scent is rich, spicy, musky ... he's a bit reflective and romantic.
If his scent is light, cool, minty... he's super-social and spontaneous.
If his scent is warm, natural, woody ... he's reserved and refined.

Just Asking ... Do you find yourself attracted to people just because of their scent? Which scents or colognes drive you wild?

Facebook Addictions

HERE ARE FIVE SIGNS THAT YOU'RE ADDICTED TO . . . FACEBOOK:

#1.) You lose sleep over Facebook: Neglecting bodily needs like sleep is a sure sign of an addiction.

#2.) You're on Facebook for more than an hour a day: It's hard to say how much time is too much . . . to spend on Facebook. But, really, who needs to spend more than an hour a day on Facebook?

#3.) You've become obsessed with exes: It's okay to add an ex as a Facebook friend. But if you're neglecting your current partner to catch up with former flames . . . that's a problem.

#4.) You ignore work to go on Facebook: Priorities, people. Priorities.

#5.) You hate getting off Facebook: Look at it this way. If you prefer Facebook to REAL LIFE . . . you're a full-blown Facebook junkie. (CNN)

Breakfast In Barbados Winner Poem!

Nine Old Wives' Tales That Aren't True!

Our parents told us all kinds of B.S. to make us behave when we were kids. But did you know that if you swallow your gum, it doesn't REALLY stay in your stomach for seven years? Here are ten more old wives' tales that don't hold up . . .

#1.) SITTING TOO CLOSE TO THE TV WILL RUIN YOUR EYES. You'll probably get a nagging headache, but sitting too close to the television won't cause any permanent damage to your eyes.

#2.) SWIMMING AFTER YOU EAT WILL GIVE YOU CRAMPS. Not true. According to the Mayo Clinic, it's perfectly safe to swim after a light meal.

--They DO suggest taking a break after eating a BIG meal, but it's not because you'll cramp up . . . it's because eating a ton of food makes you tired.

#3.) CHOCOLATE CAUSES ACNE. Nope. The American Academy of Dermatology says acne isn't caused by any specific type of food, including chocolate. Since it's linked to the levels of testosterone in your body, acne is beyond your control.

#4.) FEED A COLD, STARVE A FEVER. Starving yourself is never a good idea. When you're sick, your body needs nutrients. This old wives' tale may have started because, when you're really sick and have a fever, you usually can't keep anything down.

#5.) CRACKING YOUR KNUCKLES CAUSES ARTHRITIS. False. The president and CEO of the Arthritis Foundation recently said there's no evidence that cracking your knuckles increases the risk of arthritis.

#6.) CARROTS IMPROVE YOUR EYESIGHT. Actually, this one's partially true. Beta-carotene and vitamin-A CAN improve your night vision. But dark leafy greens like spinach actually work better.

#7.) AN APPLE A DAY KEEPS THE DOCTOR AWAY. There's a little truth behind this old wives' tale too. Apples certainly aren't BAD for you, but eating one every day WON'T keep you from getting sick.

#8.) LIGHTNING WON'T STRIKE THE SAME PLACE TWICE. Wrong. According to the National Weather Service, it happens all the time. In fact, the Empire State Building is hit an average of 25 times a year.

--And a former park ranger named Roy Sullivan was struck by lightning SEVEN TIMES between 1942 and 1977 . . . which is still the world record.

#9) YOU'LL GET SICK IF YOU GO OUT IN THE COLD WITH WET HAIR. No. Colds are caused by viruses, and having wet hair in the cold doesn't make much of a difference. So, pay attention to how often you wash your hands, not your hair.

Things you regret now that you did when you were 20

HERE ARE FIVE THINGS YOU DID WHEN YOU WERE 20 . . . THAT YOU'LL REGRET WHEN YOU'RE 40:
#5.) Not traveling enough: It's hard to travel in your 20s . . . because you're so poor. But do you really think it's going to be any easier when you're 40 with three kids, two mortgages . . . and a 50-hour-a-week job? Don't fool yourself.

#4.) Not finishing school: You thought you were smart pulling down a fat paycheck while your friends were paying off student loans. But you won't feel so smart when you're still making the same amount at 45 . . . and your friends are cruising around in new BMWs.

#3.) Smoking: It's the coolest thing in the world when you're young. Too bad you may be dead by the time you're 50.

#2.) Bad credit: That 50-inch plasma TV was pretty sweet in your bachelor pad. But you won't think it's so sweet when you're still paying it off . . . in the year 2025.

#1.) Not spending more time with your parents: Hanging out with your parents isn't that hip when you're 20. But let's face it: Your parents love you WAY more than they should, they're always there for you . . . and they aren't going to be around forever. (Coed Magazine)

Any others you would like to add?

Facebook = Bad Grades?

STUDENTS WHO USE FACEBOOK EVERY DAY HAVE A GPA THAT'S A FULL GRADE LOWER . . . THAN STUDENTS WHO DON'T USE FACEBOOK:

Parents . . . if your kid used to get good grades but now their marks have started to slip, you might want to take a look at how much time your kid spends . . . on Facebook. Why?

--Because according to a new study from Ohio State University, students who spend time on Facebook do WORSE in school . . . than students who aren't on Facebook. Listen to this . . .
--More than TWO in THREE students who use Facebook . . . or 68% . . . have a lower GPA than students who don't use Facebook.
--And the majority of students who use Facebook every day . . . get marks that are a FULL GRADE worse than non-Facebook users.

Do you have any experience with this? Is the study right?

Stupid News-Lego Jesus

STOCKHOLM – Parishioners at a church in Sweden celebrated Easter on Sunday by unveiling a 6-foot-tall (1.8-meter-tall) statue of Jesus that they had built out of 30,000 Lego blocks.
It took the 40 volunteers about 18 months to put all the tiny plastic blocks together, and their creation shows a standing Jesus facing forward with his arms outstretched.
The Protestant church was filled to capacity with about 400 worshippers on Sunday when the statue went on display behind the altar, and some of the children in the congregation couldn't help but touch the white art work.
Church spokesman Per Wilder said the statue at the Onsta Gryta church in the central Swedish city of Vasteras is a copy of Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen's "Christus" statue on display in Copenhagen.
He also said that even though the statue is all white on the outside, many of the donated Legos that the church received were of other colors and were placed inside.

What Makes a Real Man?

According to Esquire Magazine, these are some of the qualities of a real man.

DEFINITION OF A REAL MAN (Esquire)

-A man doesn't point out that he did the dishes.
-A man welcomes the coming of age. It frees him. It allows him to assume the upper hand and teaches him when to step aside.
-A man gets the door. Without thinking.
-A man knows his tools and how to use them -- just the ones he needs. Knows which saw is for what, how to find the stud, when to use galvanized nails.
-A man is comfortable being alone. Loves being alone, actually. He sleeps.
-A man does not wither at the thought of dancing. But it is generally to be avoided.

We invite you to add to the list.

It's Tuesday, do you feel stressed?

SIX EASY WAYS TO RELIEVE STRESS

Did you know that 90 PERCENT of doctor visits are due to stress-related problems? It's true. Anxiety affects almost every aspect of your health. Trying to make huge life changes can be stressful itself, so here are five of the easiest ways to relieve anxiety . . .

#1.) FIND A RYTHYM. According to researchers at Stanford University, listening to music that has a steady beat can cause your brain waves to function rhythmically and relax you. Try loading your iTunes with a list of songs that get your foot tapping.

#2.) PHONE A FRIEND. Pouring your heart out can help you cope with stress AND it helps you come up with new ways to solve problems. Just don't forget to return the favor. Offering support can make you feel needed, which also reduces anxiety.

#3.) CHANGE YOUR LIGHT BULBS. Outfit your desk lamp with an old-fashioned incandescent bulb . . . especially if you're surrounded by fluorescent lights. Combining the two types of light can trick your body into thinking it's actually sunshine.
--And sunshine . . . or the perception of it . . . regulates your body's biorhythms. If you don't have enough, your immune system can get weak and mood swings can get worse.

#4.) DINE BY CANDLELIGHT. Low levels of light tell your brain to release melatonin, which gives you a better night's rest. Making sure you get enough sleep is the best way to keep your stress level down and your immune system up.

#5.) ANTICIPATE SOMETHING FUN. It doesn't have to be something HUGE. It just has to be something you look forward to each day. Maybe that's your mid-morning coffee break or the vacation you're taking in a few months.
--Whatever it is, focus on something fun, and it will keep your mind from drifting to all the things that COULD go wrong each day.

#6.) COMPLIMENT SOMEONE. When someone deserves a compliment, give them one. Research shows that the more personal connections you make, the better you body is at dealing with all kinds of stress.
--Plus, making someone else feel good will make you feel good too.
(SELF.com)

Most Stressful Time of the Week.

THE MOST STRESSFUL TIME OF THE WEEK IS TUESDAY AT 11:45 A.M.:

Well, it's Tuesday morning, and apparently . . . that's bad news for you. Allow me to explain . . .
--A recent survey has found that the MOST STRESSFUL time of the week . . . is Tuesday morning at 11:45 A.M. Why?
--Basically, we all waste our Mondays catching up on weekend gossip . . . and dodging work.
--But by Tuesday, reality sets in and it all comes to a head . . . trying to catch up on the work we've avoided and planning out the rest of the week . . . just before noon.
--Overall, nearly ONE in FIVE employees are forced to work late on Tuesday . . . because of all the time wasted on Monday.
(--In other words, enjoy your ride to work this morning . . . because in a couple hours you're going to be miserable.)

Question from Tim

MY GIRLFRIEND IS STARTING TO LEAVE HER PERSONAL THINGS AT MY PLACE . . . AND IT'S FREAKING ME OUT:
My girlfriend and I have been together for about eight months.
--She spends the night at my place sometimes, and recently, I've noticed that she's leaving more and more of her personal things there.
--She leaves face wash and makeup in my medicine cabinet . . . she bought a bunch of food for when she stays here . . . and she's asked me for her own dresser drawer.
--I feel like she's moving way too fast. The next thing I know, she'll probably want to MOVE IN with me.
--Is eight months too soon for her to be leaving stuff at my apartment? I don't leave anything at her place. Does this mean she wants to move in with me?

FIVE FOODS THAT REDUCE STRESS***

There's a lot to be worried about these days, and even if you're great at dealing with stress, you'll hit your breaking point sooner or later. That's why it's important to find healthy ways to manage your stress level. Here are five foods that might do the trick . . .

#1.) ORANGES. A German study found that if vitamin C is consumed after a stressful situation, it helps return blood pressure and cortisol levels to normal. Plus, it boosts your immune system and keeps you from getting sick . . . which is stressful in and of itself.

#2.) BLUEBERRIES. They're high in vitamin C too, and they're also high in fiber, which helps regulate blood sugar levels. For a lot of people, fluctuating blood sugar levels are a MAJOR contributor to stress.

#3.) DRIED APRICOTS. Most people don't get enough magnesium in their diet, and that can lead to muscle cramps, fatigue, irritability, and insomnia. Dried apricots are filled with magnesium, which reduces stress levels AND is a natural muscle relaxant.

#4.) TURKEY. You've heard of tryptophan, right? The amino acid in turkey that everyone blames for making them sleepy on Thanksgiving? Well, tryptophan is in all the other meats too, at pretty much the same levels.

--And it triggers the release of serotonin in the brain, and serotonin makes you feel good. (--The reason you get sleepy is because you eat and drink too much, it's not the turkey.)

#5.) SALMON. The omega-3 fatty acids found in fish are good for your heart, but they also help relieve stress. A recent study found that omega-3s actually control the cortisol and adrenaline levels in your body and keep them from peaking.

Bonehead Moves That Annoy Your Co-Workers

Do you ever get the feeling that your co-workers don't really like you? Well, you might be right.
--With that in mind, here are SIX bonehead moves that annoy your co-workers . . .
#1.) Interrupting: You may as well just come out and tell your co-workers that you don't care what they think . . . because that's how they'll interpret it when you interrupt them.

#2.) Not saying "please" and "thank you": Minding your manners can go a long way in winning over your co-workers. But when you don't say "please" and "thank you" . . . you run the risk of getting a reputation as the office jerk.

#3.) Not cleaning up your messes: Your co-workers aren't being paid to clean up after you . . . so do them a favor and clean up after yourself.

#4.) Profanity: Some people are offended by profanity . . . and cursing at work conveys the message that you couldn't care less who it bothers.

#5.) Talking loudly on the phone: Your co-workers are busy . . . and they don't need to hear your dumb phone conversations. So please do everyone a favor and shut up.

#6.) Snubbing: You may not be friends with all your co-workers. But would it kill you to say "hello" . . . or to give a nod or a smile . . . when you run into your co-workers around the office? I didn't think so.
