Kids Help Phone needs our help and a small donation goes a long way!
Too many children today believe that suicide is the only way to deal with abuse, bullying and depression. That’s because they've lost hope. But thanks to people like you, kids can turn to Kids Help Phone to feel heard and understood. And to regain their sense of hope. Right now, I'm worried because our counsellors may not be able to answer their cries for help. The reality is that the demand for our service is greater than our ability to meet it. That’s unacceptable when you consider that a child you know may be forced to wait for the help they desperately need.
The timing couldn’t be worse.
Just recently, 65% of kids who responded to our survey said they had been the victim of cyberbullying - that's when a bully uses technology such as cell phones or computers to embarrass, insult, or harass another child. It can leave scars that last a lifetime.
Young people reach out to us 5,000 times every week.
We're struggling to answer all calls and online posts as soon as possible. We don't want to keep kids waiting for help when they need it most. Professional counselling can transform the lives of young people who desperately need someone to listen. Someone to be there.
A child you know might not be getting the help they urgently need.
When Kids Help Phone began 23 years ago, we promised young people between the ages of 5 and 20 that our professional counsellors would be there day and night, every day of the year. To this day, Kids Help Phone counsellors continue to be available to every child, teen and young adult in Canada - but we can’t do it without YOU. Please make sure kids can continue to count on us - no matter what.
Your gift could save a life!
With counsellors seeing more complicated problems and spending more time with each child, we need your generosity now more than ever. Help us keep our promise to kids - whenever they cry out for help!
If you make your gift before December 31st, you’ll receive a tax receipt for 2012. Also, this year, Parmalat Canada is matching every donation up to a maximum of $30,000 so your donation will have double the impact.
Remember, we can only be there for kids with YOUR help.
