Dr. Oz With the Breakfast Club

Dr. Oz joins us live tomorrow morning just after 8:30. Is there a question you would like to ask the good doctor?

Question: I drink a lot of Perrier (over a liter a day) and wondered if it had any adverse effects on my body. Based on my research, I can't see any effects on my digestive system or even from a dental perspective as carbon dioxide is naturally exhaled from our bodies already but I would love to hear what the great Dr. Oz has to say.

Thanks Breakfast Club for getting me out of bed in the morning!

I recently bought one of those bathroom scales that measure fat, water, bone and muscle. The problem is the booklet that is included only lists what your body fat should be for your age, gender(based on activity level) and height but not bone or anything else. How do I know if those #'s are good or bad?

I have a question....In the begining of September I underwent surgery to remove skin cancer from my nose. The tip (ball) of my nose is still quite swollen and I've been told it may take up to a year for the swelling to subside in this area of my nose. So here's my question: Would using Preparation H on the tip of my nose reduce the swelling any faster, since one of it's other uses has been to reduced puffiness under the eyes?
I guess I could just give it a try,..but I'd like to know if Dr. Oz thinks it will make a difference. Thank you, Kimberley.

My husband had a triple by-pass Feb 26/09 and the stupid man has started smoking again. How may this affect his outcome. I hate that he has done this but he will not listen to me. Any suggestions on getting him to quit. I have tried everything.
A very concerned spouse

I am so excited to hear Dr.OZ is coming to C100.. I would love to meet him in person. We watch him here at work on our lunch break everyday at 1:00.

This is a very, awkward question.. I have not had intercourse in 3 years or more. Does this mean it grows back or does this effect my body in a negative way.

Thanks

Question to Doctor Oz,

Sometimes I get this shooting pain up my rectum. It can sometimes wake me in the middle of the night and can last up to a 1/2 hour. Usually starts out gradually and then the pain gets worse and eventually subsides. I've talked to a few other women who experience it too. Usually other symptoms are weakness and sweating. Was once told my a Dr. it could be stress....what's your opnion?

Hi Dr. Oz, my question is: My son is a competitive swimmer who trains five days a week. Is it OK for him to take protein shakes on a daily basis (2x per day - 1010 calories) that claim to give you more lean muscle and energy? He is 16 years old, 5'10", 149 lbs., and sometimes does not eat balanced meals - mainly lunch.

Question: I am 44, eat healthy, do not smoke, walk regularly, ideal weight and have been fighting "off the charts" high cholesterol for 5 years...Total cholesterol being 13.5... Excellent good cholesterol and really, really bad "bad" cholesterol. I also had extremely high liver enzymes and 6 months ago was diagnosed with Primary Biliary Cirrhosis and take Ursodiol After 3 months of Ursodiol my cholesterol was checked and it didn't go down, but my liver enzymes are considerably lower. I will be re-checked in December & if my cholesterol does not go down I will have to go on medication for this. I do not like taking medication at all. Is there something more I can do to get my cholesterol down.
QUESTION: Is there some home rememdies I can try?salmon oil pills I heard were good, Apple Cider Vinegar pills, anything but cholesterol pills, I hear the side effects are not good.

Do you have any advice about how to deal with lock-jaw? My jaw locks about 2-3 times a day. Since a young child I have always grinded my teeth at night, but it wasn’t until I had ear surgery about 2 years ago when it got really bad, as I suspect during surgery I was on a ventilator and my jaw remained open in that one position for over 3 hours, now I have to be so carful that when it locks that I can get it back into place. I also have been wearing a bite plate at night to help with grinding…can you offer some advice?
