Earlier in the show, we told you about a report that found the average child in the 10-16 age group typically spends six hours a day in front of some type of screen, either video, tv or computer. If there are kids in your home, how long do they spend each day in front of a screen?

My kids are completely on par with that. In fact, they usually have two things going at the same time. They watch TV and chat on the MSN.
They would do it more, but they are in school all day.
I am teen between those ages and I find the reason I spend most of my time on the computer during the week is related to my workload of homework and projects which are all mostly done on the Microsoft Word and if I am not doing that it is because most kids 13 and older have facebook which is proabbly one of the most addicting sites on the interenet
I have one that is ban from the computer because he was on it way too much and my other son uses it for all research for school and some leisure. less time would be preferred as they seem to forget there is fresh air.
Our 13 year old daughter is allowed to spend 1/2 an hour a day on the computer, whether it is facebook, MSN or playing games. Before computer time, homework and all chores must be done. On the weekend she usually gets an hour to an hour and a half depending on how busy we are as a family. This is her way of escaping from her little sister. We closely monitor what she is doing on MSN and Facebook, we have very strict rules.
I have 2 kids that age I have recently revoked their computer priviledge due to the fact of face book. You have to be 19 to have a face book account. My kids lied to get one as did 99% of the kids this age. If your a parent out there with a tween, teen on face book or you tube u should check it out for yourself. I was surprised what i could access on these 2 sites. Needless to say now there is no computer for them they are outside alot more than they use to be.
