“The X Factor” kicked off with a standout performance by 13-year-old Rachel Crow, who belted out Duffy’s song “Mercy.”

The young singer received a standing ovation and high praise from judges Paula Abdul, L.A. Reid, Cheryl Cole, and Simon Cowell.
