Little White Lies

A GUY DECIDED TO TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT EVERYTHING FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR . . . EVEN WHEN IT WAS TOUGH:
Last February, a 43-year-old guy from Madrid, Spain, named Cathal Morrow decided to find out just how much he relied . . . on LYING.
--So, in order to do that, Cathal swore to tell the truth about everything . . . even when it was tough . . . for an ENTIRE YEAR.
--For example, when Cathal's wife, Patti, would ask him if a certain item of clothing made her look fat, and he actually thought it did . . . he would tell her.
--Or if Patti caught him checking out another woman, Cathal would admit that he was trying to figure out how she'd look with no clothes on.
--Or if Patti asked Cathal what he was thinking about, he'd have to admit that he was daydreaming about getting-it-on with an ex-girlfriend. (Daily Mirror)

--So you know, Cathal's experiment is almost over . . . and his wife hasn't divorced him yet. But they both admit his honesty was tough to deal with. In other words, lying saves marriages. But you already knew that, didn't you?
--Is there anyone out there who'd be willing to try this? We'd love to hear how it goes.

I believe that honesty is always the best policy ..but I do not feel that so-called 'white lies' deserve pressure. It's simple : a lie is mean to knowingly decieve someone and has no other acceptable use. It is clear dishonesty.
However, a white lie has a more caring and diplomatic purpose ..to protect or spare our children/loves/friends/ the innocent and sometimes even ourselves , unnecessary .. worry, hurt, pain,or embarrasment. If used like good manners, I believe should be forgiveable. Always ask people if and how they prefer the truth .."Do you like my answers to be served the same as your coffee ? I can give it to you w/sugar(coating) or just black (raw)!!!" This policy has always worked for me-providing that I was willing to come clean to my loved at a later, less sensitive moment .
