April Fools, We Got Ya!

Well, not all of you , however we did touch on a nerve today. For our April Fools joke we told you that a new law in Halifax came in effect where you had to buckle up your pets in your car. Many didn't believe us, some were worried and others already buckle up their precious cargo. Thanks to Clayton for passing along this cute photo of his precous pooches!

I just chuckled to myself and wondered how many people were believing this!

I got fooled like may others but I was thinking that it can't be true because it was the stupidest idea I've ever heard of. When they had the acting RCMP office speaking about the issue, I said it must be true but still a stupid idea. You never know these days, maybe the government was looking for some quick cash to buy some LCD TVs and stuff. At least I didn't call in and find out how to setbelt my parrot. Ha Ha.. It was all fun. I'll keep my radio off next year.

Well you got me...as I was driving into work listening to C100 breakfast club, I told myself what is going on with these crazy laws. I went to work and started telling my colleague did her hear about the new law of buckling up your pet. As I said it out loud...I realized. I've been "April Fooled" and yelled out "OMG, they got me, I can't believe they got me" Nice....

Today is Friday and I was telling my husband about this new law. We do have a dog seat belt but it is too big for our 4 month old Border Collie pup. He told me about a guy he works with getting a call from his daughter yesterday, worrying about where to get a seat belt. He called a pet store and they told him that you guys were pulling everyone's leg. They had a lot of phone calls. Congratulations on a prank well played! I will remember that for a long time.
I had a friend years ago, who called all of her friends and family at seven in the morning and told them she was Mrs. something from the Halifax water commission. They would be shutting the water off due to a problem that morning at eight for the day. Could they please fill everything up with water, pots, tub etc. Everybody did it and nobody recognized her voice. Her Mother in law was furious hours later that she had no water to use. She didn't even check the taps. It was the best April fools joke I ever heard of until yours.

I'm disappointed it's not true. I actually think it's a good thing for pets, the people in the vehicle with them and everyone who is near that driver with their pet on their lap.

Hopefully it will be law one day soon.

It is May 17, and I'm just finding out today that this was a joke. I even tried to buckle my dog in when I had to take her out one day and has since been making her stay on the floor. Now I feel really stupid...Good one guys!
