The Canadian Museum of Immigration in Halifax is now open to visitors.
Defence Minister Peter MacKay says the museum at Pier 21 pays tribute to people from all over the world who have chosen Canada as their home.
From the late 1920s to the early 1970s, Pier 21 was Canada's front door for more than one million immigrants, refugees, soldiers, wartime evacuees, war brides and their children.
