THE RAZOR RIP-OFF (AND OTHER MONSTROUSLY MARKED-UP PRODUCTS)
"In this economy" it seems insane to pay for a product with a more than 4,500% markup. I'm talking about those multi-blade razors made by companies like Gillette. The products sold by Gillette and other companies cost as little as 10 cents to make, yet consumer are charged up to $4 a piece -- a mark-up of more than 4,500%.
Some other products that are marked waaay up:
• Bottled water. For the price of a single bottle of Evian bottled water, you could pay for 1,000 gallons of municipal tap water.
• Wine in restaurants. The average retail markup on a bottle of wine in a restaurant is 300 percent. (The best advice: Bring your own bottle and pay the $10 corking fee.)
• Diamonds. Retailers mark up diamonds between 50 and 200 percent, and 100 to 400 percent for gold.
• Wedding dresses. They retail for at least 100 percent more than the wholesale price.
• Coffee shop coffee. $3-$5 for a cup at Starbucks when it costs between 25 and 50 cents at home?
• Eyeglasses. Some opticians charge 1,000 percent over wholesale for designer frames.
• Popcorn. When a consumer has no other option, he'll pay the 1300% markup on a large tub of theater popcorn. Sucker!
• Concessions. The markup on nachos is 47 to 64 percent; on corndogs it's nearly 90 percent; on snowcones it's nearly 100 percent.
• Jeans. Everyone owns at least a few pair. A $21.99 pair of jeans from Kohl’s still has a 112 percent markup from wholesale, while a $300 pair of designer jeans from True Religion can boast a markup as steep as 300 percent over cost.
• French fries at restaurants. A 30 cent potato can bring in about $1.75 for a restaurant.

I buy most of my families and my clothes at Frenchy's, I used to go there once a week and I have a sister who is a Frenchy's addict, it is the best place to shop for just about anything, purses, window coverings, belts, coats and so on. LOVE Frenchy's.
You are right! And that is why I never buy those items on your list!
