A Brave Little Girl Celebrates Mothers Day

(above)A picture of Gabrielle with her late mother, Stacey

With Mothers Day on Sunday, we can think of no better way to celebrate than by supporting Gabrielle in her quest to raise a thousand dollars in her Mother and Grandmother's memory for the CIBC Run For The Cure. Please read the letter below and, if you can, help Gabrielle on Sunday.

A letter from Gerry Gaudet on behalf of his daughter

I am sending out this request in the hope of some kind of support, if at all possible. My daughter, Gabrielle (who is 8), lost her mom (Stacey) and grandmother (Jerry Slaunwhite) to breast cancer in the fall of 2005. This Sunday, Mothers Day, she is shaving her head to try and raise money for her run in the CIBC-Run for the Cure. Over the last three years she has raised close to $8,000.00 doing numerous events. This is by far her biggest. She is currently sitting at $380.00 raised for cutting her hair. What I am hoping for is that people could come out and show her some support. She says she is not nervous, but I think deep down she is a little frightened. So if you could announce it on your radio station that she is shaving her head at 10:00am, Mothers Day, May 10th it would be greatly appreciated.
If you are unable to grant this request it will certainly be understood. I am sure you get a number of such requests. It just that she was hoping to get to at least $1,000.00 with this event and she is quite far away.

Thank you for taking the time to read this,

Gerry Gaudet
