It was a big topic this morning: what are you hanging on to from your childhood. We found out that Moya is still hanging on to her letter sweater from high school. She also has her daughter's baby teeth. Peter still has his rock collection from when he was ten. How about you? What are you hanging on to from your childhood? Let us know.

My first jewerlly box (the one with the little ballerina in it:)
My halloween costumes
Books on 45s (I don't even have a record player to play them on!)
I also have my children's baby teeth, not sure why, just have never been one to throw anything away. Pack rat big time. I also have almost every item of school work from their early years as well as all of their letters to "Santa". One of my daughters first dresses as well as her first pair of black patent leather shoes.
Now here is what is wierd. My Mom who is not a pack rat still has in the top drawer of her dresser a little pill bottle that has a gall bladder stone in it from my surgery in November 1980. She doesn't even know why she has it but she still never throws it out. Apparently she wants to be reminded of the pain I endured. lol
Still have my jewerly box, rubber boots (with yogie bear and huckleberry on them) and every greeting card ever given to me.
I had quite long hair when I was a little girl. The first time I got it cut, about 10 inches, my mother kept it and just recently gave it to me. She also kept my hair from the second time, about 10 inches again but braided that time. Now if I ever need to know my "natural" hair colour, I just have to check in the box! I'm not sure what I am going to do with it...
I have all my records - which I still play once in a blue moon!
I have theatre programs from the shows I saw at the Charlottetown Festival during the summers when I was a kid. Anne of Green Gables was the first live show I saw and I fell in love with theatre. Also programs from Neptune when I started going to plays there.
I still have my very first teddy bear given to me just after I was born 36 years ago ... all things considered he's still in pretty good shape!
I have all my dolls and stuffed animals that survived my childhood. I also have a very special homemade barbie canopy bed (and the bedding) made by someone who worked with my grandfather at the Beaverbank Nursing Home YEARS ago. You just can't throw the love away.
