Kris Wins American Idol! What do you think?

This email was in our inbox when we came in this morning.

Good morning:

For the last umpteen weeks I have listened to your commentary about the American Idol show - raving about the greatness of Adam.

While not all your listeners agree, we have sat back and prayed that the viewers were wiser. Hurray - they were!

Adam can sing, yes - but he pushed the envelope way too far and had more than his fair share of confidence.

I can't wait ot purchase Kris's music.

What do you think about the American Idol results?

I believe not winning is about the best thing that could have happened to a great artist like Adam

1. No horrific first single for Adam
2. More artistic freedom for an amazing voice for every genre of music
3. He WILL get a record deal and go on to be more popular then Kris.

I like those reasons because Adam didn't NEED to win to prove his superiority over Kris. His Emo scene fashion and eye liner made him a sort of an outcast in the hormonally charged section of the voting population, namely the millions of teen aged preppy girls that make a living out off being popular and bullying the ones that are "different".

I sincerely hope Adam will be the next Freddy Mercury... He deserves to be up there with all the other amazing vocal stars this world has and had.

Have a great weekend

This is an email that came in from Cindy this morning.

Peter,

You are so right ... Adam should have won .. in my opinion, he was by far the best .. not only the best for this year .. but better than the winners of other years ...

My 15 yr old son and I had pegged Adam as the winner the first time we heard him. Secretly though, I hoped he would not win, as the Am. Idol winner's historically do not do well. Often runner-ups do much better. So Adam, we are routing for you and will track your amazing progress. You will be great.

I have mixed feelings about Kris winning American Idol. I like him and prefer his gentle personality and softer sound to Adam. However, it appears that in many of the reality shows, it's best to come second. One can then have the freedom to entertain other offers and the flexibility to proceed as they choose instead of their contractual obligations.

I do feel that Adam is a stronger singer and possibly entertainer. However, his loud style and, dare I say, cockiness, were not appealing to me. I had expected him to draw the younger crowd and was surprised to see that my colleagues in their 50's and 60's were huge fans of his. They said he reminded them of Elvis.

Both are talented and I'm certain will do quite well. This is just the beginning of something wonderful for several of the top 10.
