Do you have a co-worker (heaven forbid, not you) who is always late for work. Fifteen percent of workers are late at least one day each week. Does it tick you off? What excuse do your co-workers use.
Thirty-two percent of workers attribute their late arrivals to bad traffic.
One in four employees make up fake excuse rather than reveal why they're late

I am the person who is alway late. I don't even give a reason. I think my co workers would think something was wrong if I go to work on time!! I don't even know why I just am.
I'm never late, unless I've called in to say I will be. To be honest though, anyone who takes the time to be petty enough to complain about someone else being late, obviously isn't doing their job either. I can legitimately understand if that person's presence affects the work others are doing. In that case they have a right to be cranky! Most times though, everyone has their own unrelated duties.
I am the person who is often late...not a lot late..but always 5 or 10 minutes. I even had my start time changed from 8:30 to 9:00 and am still late! No matter how early I get up I am still a few minutes late. I have 3 kids to get out the door and dropped off in different places, but that is really no excuse. I work hard all day and nothing goes undone, I am very lucky that I have a boss who looks at the results of my work and not if I arrived exactly on time!
So what is worse, the employee who is late every day, or the one who wastes the first hour of the day? I have a coworker who is always on time, but she spends the first 45 minutes of her day getting coffee, saying goodmorning to the whole staff, checking the weather forecast and her gmail. She may get to work at 9, but doesn't actually start doing anything productive until close to 10. I may be 5 minutes late for work..but I arrive, coffee in hand and am busy working by 9:10!
